I absolutely love doing Mommy and Me Portraits. I had scheduled some time back in April to do these mini sessions for moms and their babies. Hair and makeup could be added on and Gerri was on of the women who decided to do a Mommy and Me Portrait with her twin daughters Alyssa and Farren.
These little girls were all about hanging out with their Mom and Grandma. And when they saw the makeup going onto Gerri, they wanted it too! So my amazing stylist Kennedy (check out her amazing handmade lashes) told them that after she was done with their mom she would put some pretty lipstick on them. They got to choose their color and continued applying it to themselves throughout the photoshoot.
Sometimes we do posed portraits and sometimes we do portraits that are what I like to call candidly posed. But with these little ladies it was best to let them be them. They hugged and kissed their mom and grandma. They ran around with each other with huge smiles on their faces. They put on their lipstick and looked at themselves in the mirror in my studio.
Check out a few of these images here where Kennedy is getting Gerri and her girls ready for the shoot.
Gerri let me know that when she scheduled the photoshoot she asked her own mother to be in them as well. And when she did her mom cried. I love doing generational photoshoots and when you can take a mom, her daughter, and her daugther’s daughters then that’s a win in my book. These ladies now have these images to look back on for years. And they can pass them down to the little girls to share with their children in the future.
If you did a Mommy and Me Portrait session who would you have in your photos? I would love to know. You can always comment here or email me at email@example.com
Mommy and Me Portraits happen at my studio in Ocean Shores, Washington. The session itself usually lasts about an hour and you can choose to add on professional hair and makeup for yourself for $100. The session itself is $175 and includes 10 edited digital images of your choice. You can of course choose to upgrade or add onto that package.
Check out some more of my Mommy and Me Portrait sessions and a beautiful story about why these ladies did a generational photoshoot. And for now enjoy some of these beautiful images from Gerri’s Mommy and Me Portrait Session here in Ocean Shores.

Imagine, you walk into my studio (located in Aberdeen, Wa) completely freaked out. I mean, even though we've been talking and I've been preparing you this isn't something you've ever done before!
So you sit down in my stylist's chair as she starts to go over hair and makeup looks with you. As she begins you start to feel at ease. We decide which outfit you're going to start with and start posing! The music is playing and soon the camera falls away, you're just feeling it! I show you a few shots on the back of my camera and you're floored! That's me?! But you say it in a way as if that confidence has always been there, we just needed to pull it out of you.
That is why I do what I do! To watch you transform from unsure into the powerful, amazing, confident woman that you are! You just needed a little boost. And I'm here to give that to you.
