Every mother will tell motherhood stories differently with her own unique way, because every mother’s story is different. Just like this one.
I was lucky enough to photograph Joanna and her family before. So when she reached out to me again for a maternity/family shoot I was overjoyed! She had some amazing ideas for the maternity portion of her shoot that we did together and it was really fun telling her own motherhood story before her baby gets here.
So we met at Maroni Meadows in Snohomish. If you know me then you know when I come to Snohomish to do photos (I’m based out of Ocean Shores, Washington but travel to the Snohomish area fairly often) I love to do portrait sessions at Maroni Meadows. It’s a beautiful wedding venue that has photo shoot opportunities around every turn. It’s really beautiful and maybe a great place for you to look into if you’re looking for a wedding venue in the area.
It’s also a really great place to tell those motherhood stories that I really love telling. As you guys know by now I’m all about telling the story in my work. So that you have beautiful images that tell that story of your life in that very moment. You can look back on these and pass them down for generations. And each time you look at them hopefully you’re brought back to that moment in your life which then triggers more memories and emotions.
Joanna and her husband Daniel have two little kiddos already who are super excited to meet their new, little brother soon! So we did a complete family session and then broke off for more images of just Joanna and her new little baby. It was beautiful and intimate and a great location to tell this story of motherhood!
Enjoy this beautiful story of family and motherhood!

Imagine, you walk into my studio (located in Aberdeen, Wa) completely freaked out. I mean, even though we've been talking and I've been preparing you this isn't something you've ever done before!
So you sit down in my stylist's chair as she starts to go over hair and makeup looks with you. As she begins you start to feel at ease. We decide which outfit you're going to start with and start posing! The music is playing and soon the camera falls away, you're just feeling it! I show you a few shots on the back of my camera and you're floored! That's me?! But you say it in a way as if that confidence has always been there, we just needed to pull it out of you.
That is why I do what I do! To watch you transform from unsure into the powerful, amazing, confident woman that you are! You just needed a little boost. And I'm here to give that to you.
